The primary concern for the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles during training camp right now is getting quarterback Carson Wentz back 100 percent healthy and ready to take the field Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons. Although the coaching staff has liked what they've seen from Wentz thus far, they aren't in a rush to get him back playing against other teams during the preseason.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Wentz may not play a single down during the upcoming NFL preseason for the Eagles.

The Eagles have no reason to rush Wentz back with proven veteran Nick Foles back with the team for another season. There's no question Wentz is the future face of the franchise, but speeding up the rehab process to get him snaps during meaningless games seems unwise.

Fortunately for Philadelphia, as Rapoport pointed out, there's been no setbacks in Wentz's attempt to bounce back from knee injury. Wentz is doing everything the team hoped he'd be able to during training camp instilling confidence from the coaching staff that he'll be under center against the Falcons on Sept. 6.

However, the team has a formidable backup plan in their Super Bowl MVP. Foles may see a lot of snaps during the NFL preseason with Wentz potentially watching from the sideline. Philadelphia has the ideal situation to ease Wentz back into the swing of things with a veteran backup more than willing to shoulder the load for the time being and to start the 2018 campaign if need be.
