The Eagles are heading to the Sphere this fall. After announcing just eight shows at the Las Vegas venue, the Eagles have announced four more 2024 dates at the Sphere. This announcement brings the total up to 16 total shows across eight weekends. As Don Henley sings in “Hotel California”: “You can check out anytime you'd like, but you can never leave.”
On June 26, the Sphere announced four more Eagles shows in December 2024. The announcement comes after they already extended the residency with four shows in November. The new dates fall on December 6, 7, 13, and 14.
Pre-sales for the new shows will commence on Tuesday, July 9 at 10 am PT. Registration is open at the Eagles' official website. The general sale begins on July 12 at 10 am PT.

What is the Sphere?
The Sphere is a new high-tech Las Vegas venue. Its main appeal is the 16K resolution screens that wrap around the interior. It helps create an immersive audio and visual experience for concertgoers.
U2 was the first band to play at the venue. They opened it on September 29, 2023, with the first of 40 shows on their U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere residency. As its title suggests, the residency was centered around the band's 1991 album, Achtung Baby.
It was a big hit. Like the Eagles, U2 continued extending the residency before ending it after 40 dates. Bono, The Edge, and Adam Clayton of the band were present for all 40 shows. While Larry Mullen Jr. could not perform during the residency, Bram van den Berg filled in.
Shortly after, Phish played a four-night stay at the venue. Each night of their residency featured a unique setlist and different visuals. They have not returned to the venue since.
After that, Dead and Company took over and will remain there until August 2024 right before the Eagles start their shows. During their stay, the band will play a total of 30 shows.
While concerts are the main attraction of the venue, Darren Aronofsky directed a documentary called Postcard from Earth exclusively for the venue. It opened on October 6, 2023, and is still being shown there.
Who are the Eagles?
The Eagles are fresh off of their “final” concert tour, the “Long Goodbye.” It was billed as their last concert tour but perhaps doing a Las Vegas residency at the Sphere is a caveat.
They formed in 1971 and were together until 1980. The Eagles reformed in 1994 and stayed together until the death of Glenn Frey in 2016. The band reformed in 2017 and brought Vince Gill and Glenn's son, Deacon Frey, on tour.
The band has remained together since then. Deacon did leave before rejoining them for the “Long Goodbye” tour and presumably the Sphere residency. Other current members of the band include Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit.
As a band, the Eagles released seven studio albums. Their last was 2007's Long Road Out of Eden (which was preceded by 1979's The Long Run). They are known for their hit songs such as “Hotel California,” “Take It Easy,” and “Desperado.”
