Despite his on-screen return in Young Sheldon, don't expect Jim Parsons back for a Big Bang Theory revival.
Speaking to E! News, Parsons revealed his condition for a return to Sheldon Cooper. It would only happen through “reincarnation” in the “next lifetime,” he told the outlet.
In a more serious response, Parsons still seemed doubtful of a return.
“Look, never say never to anything,” he said. “Life is long, God willing. But I don't think so.”
This comes after he reprised the role in the Young Sheldon series finale. He appeared as an adult Sheldon Cooper along with his wife Amy (Mayim Bialik). That appearance was “very, very special” for Parsons.
“It was very, very special to do that,” Parsons said. “The feeling today is kind of odd, you know? It's the second time now because when we ended The Big Bang Theory, it felt like this, too. A little bit different.”
It has been some time since Parsons filmed the Young Sheldon finale. Still, the actor is attempting to process what happened, especially as the finale is fresh for fans of the show. “You shoot that final episode, and it's wrapped for you,” he said, continuing, “and then a couple of months later, it wraps for the rest of the world, and it's a very weird feeling to flood over you again like that.”
