A clip from the Young Sheldon finale (airing on May 16) has been shared. It showcases Jim Parsons' return to the Big Bang Theory role.

The clip has been shared by CBS. It begins in Young Sheldon's timeline, as Iain Armitage is sitting at his table with MeeMaw (Annie Potts) and Missy Cooper (Raegan Revord). Parsons can be heard narrating the voiceover, a role he's held since the Big Bang Theory prequel premiered.

“Even as a child, I was always doing things to make other people happy,” Parsons' narration begins.

That's when Amy (Mayim Bialik), Sheldon's wife, interrupts him. “Doing things to make other people happy?” she interrupts. “You've got to be kidding me.”

When she asks Sheldon to give an example of him making others happy, he retorts: “How about once a year on your birthday?”

Amy then points out that Sheldon Zoomed into a seminar when she was giving birth. “You were taking forever to dilate,” he replied. “And I'd already made my contribution to the project which, need I remind you, was on your birthday.”

One important tidbit is that Amy asks Sheldon if he's writing his memoir. That re-contextualizes the series as a recollection of Sheldon's childhood for his memoir.

What is Young Sheldon's finale about?

It's unknown what exactly the Young Sheldon finale will be about, but surely the Coopers will be dealing with the death of George Cooper Sr. (Lance Barber).

In a second clip from CBS, Sheldon is seen in church with Missy and Mary. He takes out his laptop while the church prays, much to his mother's dismay.

Young Sheldon is a spin-off of Chuck Lorre's The Big Bang Theory. Premiering in 2017, the series depicts the early childhood of Sheldon Cooper. This includes his journeys through high school and college at a young age.

Jim Parsons played the role in The Big Bang Theory as an adult. It is his signature role to date. However, in the prequel series, Iain Armitage took over the mantle.

The Young Sheldon finale will mark the first time Parsons has appeared on-screen in the series. He has served as the narrator of the series since its inception. Similarly, Mayim Bialik has only appeared in the prequel series in a voice cameo capacity. The clip suggests fans will at least get a short glimpse into their present-day lives.

Zoe Perry and Lance Barber play Sheldon's parents, Mary and George Cooper, respectively. Raegon Revord and Montana Jordan play Missy and Georgie Cooper, his siblings. Annie Potts also stars in the series as MeeMaw, Mary's mom.

After seven seasons, Young Sheldon will conclude on May 16. While this was a heartbreaking decision made by CBS, the universe will still go on strong.

CBS green-lit a spin-off series, Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage. Both Jordan and Emily Osment, who plays Mandy in Young Sheldon, are confirmed to return. The series will depict their journey as young parents as they raise “CeeCee.”

Young Sheldon's series finale will air on May 16 at 8 pm ET.
