We usually cover what's new to Netflix every month (check out our February article). But sometimes, it's worth reporting what's going to leave, too. For March 2022, a massive exodus is happening, where we'll see over a hundred's worth of episodes leaving the platform. MARVEL Netflix originals will be gone by the time February wraps up.
It's been a while since Netflix and Disney ended their partnership in producing original shows on Netflix. Since Disney+ was conceived, the media giant has realized that it could use its MARVEL intellectual properties to attract viewers to its new streaming platform. Because of this, Netflix originals featuring MARVEL characters were canceled, and no more future shows are slated for production.
The particular shows affected by this exodus are:
- Daredevil (Seasons 1-3)
- Jessica Jones (Seasons 1-3)
- Luke Cage (Seasons 1-2)
- Iron Fist (Seasons 1-2)
- The Defenders (Limited Series)
- The Punisher (Seasons 1-2)
But while the exit is easy enough to explain, it's still not clear whether or not new shows will be produced for these shows under new production houses. It's also not clear whether or not these shows will be transferred to Disney+ at all or even be shown on any other platform apart from Netflix. Will they become the first adult-oriented shows on Disney+, or will they join M.O.D.O.K. and Hit-Monkey on Hulu? Only one thing is certain for now: you only have until February 28 to watch these shows in full on Netflix.
