The Expanse was meant to be released on December 16, but due to it being a global product, some in the states were actually able to watch the first three episodes of the Amazon original on the 15th. Hooray, timezones! Nonetheless, this post is about The Expanse new episodes release date and the like.
The Expanse New episodes Release Date
Every new episode after the first three that have originally dropped, will air on Wednesday's moving forward until a February 3 finale.
This does not, however, take into account the same global timing benefit that resulted in many in the states getting the free three episodes early. If that is indeed the case, the release of new episodes will continue at 7 PM (Eastern) on Tuesday evenings. If not, first thing Wednesday morning.
When Do New Episodes Of The Expanse Get Released
Midnight from a global time perspective. Again, that's how the first three episodes here handled. There are seven more, and if it continues the same trend, those reading this in American we'll actually get new episodes each and every Tuesday night.
That said, it'll be interesting to see if Amazon addresses this at all. While a company doing business internationally, most people do not conform to the global time standard, which could make it confusing for many if this is how the company continues to operate.
For those who might remember, this same thing happened when season four of The Expanse was released. It was hyped for a specific date, then released “hours earlier” stateside, leading many to believe Amazon did it has a surprise drop. It was not that, though. As mentioned, it was a timezone benefit.
The Expanse Release Date
If we want to get technical about it, the very first episode ever dropped on November 23, 2015. After that, season two on February 1, 2017; three on April 11, 2018; and the fourth season on December 12, 2019.
What To Expect
The show has gotten better season after season. To avoid any potential spoilers, it is just worth noting that the program is usually at its best when the narrative is focused on several different characters and each episode continues to build to a larger nefarious turmoil that's bubbling in the background.
In case you somehow have yet to see the first three episodes, I'll discontinue talking about it… despite my deep desire to meander on about The Expanse.
