The Atlanta Falcons offense with the likes of Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, and Devonta Freeman has the chance any game to put on quite a show. Even without the Falcons adding anyone this offseason that wouldn't have changed, but after the draft, there is no doubt this offense got a lot better.

They took Calvin Ridley of the Alabama Crimson Tide with the 26th overall pick and gave Ryan another tool to lineup across from Julio Jones. For Ridley, he is excited about the idea of learning from a veteran like Jones and hopes that can help take his game to the next level.

“I started working out w/ him when I was training for the Draft”, Ridley Told SiriusXM NFL. “I'm very, very excited that I'm w/ him, a veteran receiver I can learn from, its honestly gonna make me player better cause I know Julio is watching me”

For the Falcons they couldn't be happier to have gotten Ridley, and according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta GM Thomas Dimitroff actually thought about trading up.

“He (Dimitroff) said something like, ‘This may seem crazy, but: Calvin Ridley,’” Dye, Ridley’s agent, said. “I said, ‘Thomas, you’re not going to see him where you’re picking.’ He said, ‘I’m contemplating moving up. Where do you think we’d have to get to?’”

Dye proceeded to tell Dimitroff potential landing targets for the wide receiver from Alabama: Baltimore at 16. Dallas at 19. Carolina at 24. Dimitroff pondered trading up eight to 10 picks, but determined it likely would’ve cost a second-round pick – too expensive. So he opted to sit back and wait. It worked. Dye said he was “stunned” when Carolina took wide receiver D.J. Moore over Ridley.

The good news for the Falcons is they didn't have to give up a draft pick, and they still got their guy. Now they just hope that these two guys will become the next dynamic wide receiving duo in the NFL
