On Sunday afternoon, Atlanta Falcons were edged by the Indianapolis Colts and head coach Dan Quinn lost a key defensive player. Shortly after the defeat which dropped Atlanta to 1-2 on the season, the Falcons announced that safety Keanu Neal would miss the rest of the year due to a torn Achilles tendon against the Colts.

However, controversy immediately ensued when Neal was flagged on the play that ultimately became the last of his 2019 season. In obvious pain while realizing that he indeed suffered a significant injury on the play, Neal promptly drew a 15-yard penalty for throwing his helmet.

As you can imagine, Dan Quinn was not pleased with the officials' decision to call a penalty on a play that resulted in an injury.

“I would hope in those instances we use common sense and pick up the flag,” Quinn recently said, via Jason Butt of The Athletic.

Failing to improve to 2-1 on Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis, the Falcons were unable to complete the task. With Atlanta's lone win of the season coming in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Falcons also came up short in Week 1 by getting trampled by the 2-1 Minnesota Vikings. Next up for the Falcons will be another 1-2 team, the struggling Tennessee Titans, who will head to Atlanta for a Week 4 matchup.
