The Atlanta Falcons find themselves in a must-win situation against the New Orleans Saints on Thanksgiving Day. Unfortunately, it appears they will be without one of their best defensive players in linebacker Deion Jones once again.

Jones has been sidelined for most of the 2018 NFL season with a foot injury. According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, he has been ruled out for Week 12:

Jones was activated from injured reserve a little more than a week ago, but did not play against the Cowboys last Sunday and the team ruled him out for Thursday night’s trip to New Orleans.

There was plenty of hope that Jones would be able to make his return. The foot injury he suffered dates back to last year which required surgery in the offseason. However, he re-aggravated it in the season opener and was placed on injured reserve. It seems he will need at least one more week to recover.

Jones was taken in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was able to make an immediate impact and even earned his first career trip to the Pro Bowl last season. The update certainly deals a crushing blow to Atlanta's chances at an upset in New Orleans.

The Saints boast one of the most high-powered offenses in the NFL. Meanwhile, the Falcons' defense has proven to be extremely vulnerable to dynamic offenses. Jones would have brought some serious stability to this porous group. However, Atlanta will need its other players to step up big in this must-win game.

As it stands, Atlanta is an 11.5-point underdog on the road against New Orleans, according to BetOnline.ag. To place a bet on the game or any others, click here and use promo code CLUTCH50 for a 50% Welcome Bonus when you signup with BetOnline.ag!
