When the Atlanta Falcons decided to move on from Matt Bryant this offseason it was a bit shocking, and it was something that didn't make him very happy. Bryant was signed after Giorgio Tavecchio struggled during the preseason and now that Bryant is back, he says all is forgiven.

“I would be lying to say I wasn't upset,” Bryant conceded via the Paul Newberry of the Associated Press. “But that's in the past. We're here right now. I'm going to give it all I have to help this team win.”

It's clear that others have trust in Bryant and that is something that is important with the kicker. Safety Ricardo Allen had an interesting analogy for what it's like when Bryant jogs on the field for an extra point or a field goal attempt.

“Back in the day, when you got on an airplane, most people prayed and everybody was nervous about whether the plane was going to go down or not,” Allen said with a smile. “But nowadays, you don't see people praying before they get on a plane.

“It's kind of like that with 3 (Bryant's number) when he gets out on the field. Most kickers you're praying with. With him, it's just like, ‘OK, he's got this. He's done this long enough. He knows what he's doing.' Man, it's just great to have him back around.”

Since coming to the Falcons in 2009 Bryant has only missed three extra points and 32 field goals. Inside of 40 yards, it's shocking when he misses one and the hope is that he will be strong in that area again.

The last thing a team wants to worry about is the kicker, and if Bryant plays like he can, it's not something the Falcons will have to do.
