After earning the NFL Offensive Player of the Year honor in 2017, Atlanta Falcons running back Todd Gurley's career went on an unexpected downturn. Several knee injuries haunted him which led to him being waived by the Los Angeles Rams and be picked up by the Falcons in the offseason.

In his first season with his new team, Gurley is eager to prove his doubters wrong as he is looking forward to a bounce-back campaign on the gridiron, as per Michael DiRocco of ESPN.

“It's always something, but that's just part of life,” he said recently.

“You get knocked down, you've got to keep getting back up. People are going to expect you to fold, but you've just got to be able to overcome.”

Despite the optimism, Todd Gurley encountered adversity yet again as he found himself on the receiving end of criticism for a botched play. An ill-advised touchdown late by the veteran in crunch time previously gave the Detroit Lions an opportunity to come back for a 23-22 victory on the final play in their Week 7 matchup.

With the disappointing loss already in hindsight, the Maryland native will still hope to press on amid a tough season for the Falcons. He currently finds himself ranked fifth in the NFL with a total of 584 rushing yards through Week 10 of the 2020 NFL season. He is also on pace for his fourth 1,000-yard season and bound to set a career-high with 283 carries if he continues to carry the momentum moving forward.

A fresh start will hopefully do the trick for Todd Gurley who finds himself back in his old stomping grounds in Atlanta as a player for the Georgia Bulldogs. He hopes to rejuvenate his playing career once more and bring back his previous Pro Bowl form which made him one of the best running backs in the league.
