The NFL season is continuing to wind down and Week 15 is right around the corner. Before looking ahead to Week 15, there were quarterbacks who performed well in fantasy football in Week 14.

The New Orleans Saints fell to the San Francisco 49ers in a shootout but that didn't stop Drew Brees from producing 40.1 fantasy points. The veteran quarterback threw for 349 yards and five touchdowns as the Saints lost in a possible preview of the NFC Championship Game.

Along with Brees, Jameis Winston also put together a productive outing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite throwing three interceptions, Winston managed to score 34.7 points as he totaled 456 yards and four scores.

What quarterbacks are poised to have a big-time performance this week? All of the picks in this article are based on PPR (points per reception) scoring and can be used in season-long or DFS (daily fantasy sports) leagues.

Provided that, here are the quarterbacks to start and sit in fantasy football in Week 15.

QBs to Start in Week 15

Browns' Baker Mayfield (vs. Cardinals): Before facing the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 13, Baker Mayfield has strung together four consecutive weeks of scoring 17 or more points. Now, in his last two games, the young quarterback has combined for only 19 points.

Luckily for Mayfield, he'll be in a perfect spot to bounce back against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15. Arizona's defense has surrendered 4,050 yards and 32 passing touchdowns to QBs (both are most in the NFL).

Buccaneers' Jameis Winston (vs. Lions): Winston has shown that he can be a fantasy-relevant quarterback in spite of leading the NFL with 23 interceptions. Again, the turnover-prone quarterback showed that even when he throws three interceptions, he can score 30 or more fantasy points in Week 14.

The Buccaneers' signal-caller will get a chance to continue his peculiar season versus the Detroit Lions this week. The Lions' defense has only been able to secure five interceptions thus far (tied for fewest in the NFL).

Titans' Ryan Tannehill (vs. Texans): The revival of Ryan Tannehill's career continues to be one of the most interesting storylines in the NFL this season. Since becoming the starter for the Tennessee Titans in Week 7, the veteran quarterback has averaged 24.7 points.

Next up for Tannehill is a Houston Texans' defense that was just torched by rookie Drew Lock at home. In addition, Houston's defense has allowed QBs to complete 28 touchdowns (fourth-most in the NFL).

Other QBs to Start: 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo (vs. Falcons), Giants' Eli Manning (vs. Dolphins), Colts' Jacoby Brissett (vs. Saints)

QBs to Sit in Week 15

Bears' Mitchell Trubisky (vs. Packers): Over the past three weeks, Mitchell Trubisky has been one of the best quarterbacks in terms of fantasy. The Chicago Bears' third-year quarterback has combined for 74.9 points in those three games.

Unfortunately, Trubisky will have to face the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Week 15. In his young career, Trubisky hasn't fared well versus the Packers, throwing 931 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception in four games against Green Bay.

Jets' Sam Darnold (vs. Ravens): Sam Darnold has had a recent stretch of favorable matchups that allowed him to be a viable fill-in option in fantasy. The second-year quarterback has scored 17 or more points in four out of his past five contests.

It's unlikely he has his fifth game with such numbers as he takes on the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. Baltimore's defense has contained QBs to only 12.4 points per game (second-fewest in the NFL).

Bills' Josh Allen (vs. Steelers): Josh Allen had a chance to prove himself in Week 14 when the Buffalo Bills squared off against the Ravens. Instead, he completed a season-low 43.6 percent of his passes for 146 yards and a touchdown.

It doesn't get any better for Allen as he will face the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road in Week 15. The Steelers' defense has corralled 17 interceptions (second-most in the NFL) and has stymied QBs to only 13.3 points per game (fourth-fewest in the NFL).
