Le'Veon Bell did his career no favors over the last few years. First, he took a year off in hopes of a big contract. He ended up signing for less than what the Steelers offered. Second, he signed with the New York Jets where players go to drift off into mediocrity.

That is exactly what Bell has been during his short time in New York. There are even talks of the Jets wanting to trade the one time star running back in the offseason. There are still three games left in the season and that means the fantasy football playoffs are well underway. If Bell is in your lineup, you have not been getting much production.

Bell has yet to rush for 100 yards in any game this season. His season-high for rushing yards in a game is 70. On the year, Bell has 589 yards on the ground and just three touchdowns. His work as a receiver has fallen off as well with just one touchdown through the air. Bell missed his first game of the season in Week 14 against the Miami Dolphins. He will be back on the field against the Baltimore Ravens but it would be smart to look for a waiver-wire addition.

Bell's Fantasy Outlook

No player on the Jets is a reliable option in fantasy football. It has been like this for years. When Bell was signed in the offseason, the Jets thought they had a chance of competing but it is the same song and dance with that franchise. Now, they may try and trade Bell because their incompetent head coach did not want him in the first place.

Heading into Week 15, Bell cannot be trusted. Especially if your team is in the midst of a playoff run. He is allegedly coming off the flu on a short week. The Jets are taking on the hottest team in football and Bell has not produced against lower-level competition. This does not even have much to do with the Ravens' defense that is sixth in the league in rushing yards allowed. This has more to do with the inept nature of the Jets and Adam Gase.

Bell has had 20 or more carries just once this season. In that same game in Week 2, he caught 10 passes. Since then, Bell has not come close to that number of touches. He is not getting used and when he is, his production is not good. The one time No. 1 fantasy player in the league has been reduced to a bench option.
