Jon Jones moving up to heavyweight is something that has been talked about for almost ten years now. The former UFC light heavyweight champion has always been considered big for the division as he stands 6'4 and has the longest reach in the UFC.

Jon Jones recently took to Twitter to confirm that his time at light heavyweight is truly over. The former UFC champion talked about his last fight against Dominick Reyes and why he performed poorly in the fight.

“My candle for light heavyweight blew out, it showed in my last fight, instead of being discouraged by a bad performance, I’m stoked about this new season. New energy. My time at LWH was over, I see that more clear today than ever,” the former UFC champion wrote on Twitter.

The heavyweight title is something that Jon Jones is looking at and has been preparing for it during his time off. He teased that the return with the UFC heavyweight championship is coming soon.

“I’ve been imagining it for over two years now, I genuinely believe winning this heavyweight championship is in my destiny. It’s already been written. I just need to keep my nose in the dirt for now and keep working, everything else will take care of itself,” Jones wrote on Twitter.

Jon Jones has been working with Henry Cejudo as he prepares to make his heavyweight comeback. The former two-division UFC champion also gave an update on his return.

“You guys will see Jon Jones this year,” Cejudo said on “The Schmozone.” “He’s anxious to fight. He’s hungry, man. He needed this time off. He needed this time out to get his mind right, to let his body recover, to enjoy his family. He needed all this.”
