Francis Ngannou is heading into his possible last fight in the UFC when he defends his heavyweight title on January 22. The Cameroonian heavyweight recently revealed some of the demands he has for his new contract, they involve boxing.

Francis Ngannou isn't simply motivated by money, he has always wanted to compete in boxing. That could be a big problem as he looks to sign a new contract with the UFC.

“It has always been [a plan for] down the line,” Ngannou told TMZ about competing in boxing. “It’s something I’m not taking my eyes off of. It’s gonna happen either way. And even when the UFC and I finally finalize the deal, the boxing part has to be into it because I can’t see myself retire without boxing.”

The UFC heavyweight champion doesn't simply want a couple of boxing matches that are no big deal. He wants to face the big names like Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.

“Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, I would like to test myself [against] their level,” said Ngannou. “You know, it’s not the same sport but I’m a champion. I’m at the top of this division. At the end of the day it’s just about throwing hands, throwing punches, having a good delivery system. Throwing those bombs, and I’m sure if I deliver my own punches pretty good I can make some damage.”

Francis Ngannou wanting to get into heavyweight boxing is going to make things very tricky with the UFC. It will be interesting to see if that can actually lead to anything.
