Epic Games is about to host a massive event for their ever-expanding battle royale shooter, Fortnite, as this weekend marks the 21st Annual Coachella Festival, a popular in-person event celebrating music and art. For all those that can't attend the festivities this year, Fortnite will be opening the concert floor with a special event and special skins that will be available for a limited time only.
For starters, players will be able to turn on Icon Radio whenever they drive around using in-game vehicles and listen to around 30 different music artists that will be featured at Coachella live concert. The music from these artists will only be available during the weekend, so players will be encouraged to check them out and enjoy some fresh tunes.
Two separate waves of Coachella cosmetic items will be available during the weekend. The first wave includes Wilder's outfit set which comes with Shark-themed items including the Neon Biter Pickaxe and the Finfin Flair Wrap. There's also Lyric's outfit set which includes a Festival Shredder Pickaxe shaped like an electric guitar. Both of these outfit sets also come with a Cosmic Equalizer alt that gives the player a more space-aged look while having equalizer bars that react to any music being played in-game.

The second wave includes more stylish outfit sets, such as Alto's outfit set, featuring a Sonic Vibes Back Bling accessory, and a tropical Softest Electropalm Pickaxe. There will also be Poet's outfit set, which includes a Cosmonautic Helmet Back Bling accessory and a Cactical Crusher Pickaxe. All of these outfit sets will be available as either separate purchases or as a complete package.
Lastly, players will be able to participate in a photo event by taking pictures of their characters celebrating Coachella in-game, then posting their pictures on either Twitter or r/FortniteBR via Reddit. The social media team at Fortnite will then highlight their favorite pictures in a blog post on April 29th.
The Fortnite X Coachella outfit sales and music festival event will begin on April 14th, 2022 at 8 PM EST.
