Genshin Impact‘s 1.6 Update is right around the corner. The Genshin Impact 1.6 Special Program live stream gave us a lot of information on what to expect in the coming patch. Let's get down to business and see all of the new stuff coming right up!
Genshin Impact 1.6 Update Release Date: June 9, 2021
First off, the most important detail you have to remember is when the next patch is coming out. The Genshin Impact 1.6 Update release date is on June 9, 2021. You still have two weeks left to pull for Eula's Banner if you still haven't, and have some time to complete the remaining events for the patch.
With the new patch, a lot of exciting new features and content are coming. Make sure that you complete the current Story Quests, Event Quests, and Archon Quests so you can jump right into new content when the patch arrives!

Klee Re-Run Banner Release Date: June 9, 2021
Klee's back, just as expected. MiHoYo managed to find a way to incorporate Klee back to the story as part of an Event Quest. She returns on June 9, 2021, along with the release of the new patch. Klee receives a letter from the Dodo-King, threatening to take Klee's Dodoco away. To solve this, Klee asks Jean to allow her to go on a vacation. Jean brings Barbara along with them, and they set off on a grand beach adventure.
The adventurer's task then is to help Klee deal with the Dodo-King. This leads to one of Genshin Impact‘s many Event Quests. They ride the curious boat called the “Waverider”, exploring a secluded archipelago full of new places to explore. This introduces new World Quests for the players to take on, as well. The Waverider features a new mechanic in Genshin Impact, allowing players to navigate the high seas, plagued by lots of monsters, with a Wind Waker-esque ship. There are also obstacle courses where the player switches between the Waverider and gliding in the air to collect coins for Event prizes.
New Character Banner Introduces Kaedehara Kazuha!
The new character Kaedehara Kazuha will arrive in Genshin Impact 1.6 update. However, the Anemo sword user will not debut immediately in his own banner. Instead, he'll come after the Klee re-run banner. Still, players will get to interact with Kazuha immediately. In the new Archon Quest, Chapter II: Prologue, we learn much about the Inazuma swordsman. While he comes from the hermit nation of Inazuma, Kaedehara Kazuha has not been in his homeland for a long while now. Rumor is, he's got a bounty on the head set by the Inazuma shogun. Hence, he spends his time traveling with Beidou's crew, traveling the high seas as an adventurer.
Kazuha's skill set seems to be perfect in dealing with large crowds. He deals a lot of AoE damage with his Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill. We can easily see how players can exploit this skill set by setting off elemental reactions against enemies. Line them up, apply elemental status, and then finish them off even with just Kazuha's Elemental Skill.
New Boss Fight: Maguu Kenki
The Maguu Kenki arrives as a new boss fight in Genshin Impact. Maguu Kenki is a samurai ameno user. It summons a phantom that uses cryo attacks. Beware when fighting this monster. You'll have to make sure that you have strong melee characters. When not initiated in close combat, the Maguu Kenki becomes invulnerable from ranged attacks.
The Maguu Kenki will be part of the Legend of the Vagabond Sword Domain Event, which we'll discuss later. But travelers who want to complete that Domain Event will have to learn how to defeat the Maguu Kenki fast. Prepare yourself in hand-to-hand combat
The identity of this new boss exclusive to Inazuma is currently unknown. Is it the fabled Dodo King that's responsible for the events of this update? Who knows – maybe Klee's story ties up to the Archon Quest in Inazuma.
Summer-Themed Outfits for Barbara and Jean
Many fans have long-awaited the Summer-themed outfits for Barbara and Jean. The Summertime Sparkle Barbara outfit can be obtained for free during the Echoing Tales Event Quest line. Players can collect Event resources for a limited-time, and they can use the Event resources to eventually get the Barbara Outfit. For players who aren't able to finish the Echoing Tales quest line, they can still buy the outfit in the Store eventually.
Meanwhile, Jean's outfit, Sea Breeze Dandelion, will not be available for free. To get the Sea Breeze Dandelion, you'll have to purchase it from the Store for 1350 Genesis Crystals. According to the live stream, these two outfits are “the first two” alternate outfits coming to Genshin Impact, and so we can expect more outfits coming later on.
There are three more events coming up during Genshin Impact 1.6 Update. There will be the Kaboomball Kombat event, wherein you play ping pong with the Dodo Fortress using the Kaboom Guard. Beat as many Dodo Fortresses as you can within the time limit. You can even play with one other person to make things easier. Collect Enigma Gears from this event to get rewards like Primogems and an Event Namecard. The Never-Ending Battle allows you to use mechanisms and blessings in a bid to survive a never-ending fight. Try to survive as long as you can! Finally, a Boss Rush mode Legend of the Vagabond Sword Domain Event will test your mastery over boss fights. Challenge the event in varying difficulties and get lots of rewards!
Finally, there will be additional functions to the Serenitea Pot feature. You can soon have the other Genshin Impact characters visit your Serenitea Pot. To do this, you have to collect furniture that your allies adore. Collect enough and they might visit your place. Every time a character visits for the first time, they'll give you rewards like Primogems to show their appreciation.
