Many Quality of Life and Optimization changes are coming to Genshin Impact Version 2.8. These changes are aimed at making the game a little smoother to play, and to improve player experience.
No More Storage Problems
The first change here will be most appreciated by those who have a little less storage space than other people.

You may choose to uninstall (and reinstall again at a later time) past quest resources (e.g. audio of quest dialogs).— Aramuhukunda (@Genshin_Intel) May 17, 2022
This is indeed a problem that is becoming more and more apparent, for PC players the game can take upwards of 50 gigabytes on their drive. Allowing for the installation and uninstallation of past and unneeded quest resources will be sure to cut down on some storage space.
Adventurer's Journal Update
Two new sections will be added to the Adventurer's Journal, called the “Guide” and “Embattle.” According to the leaks, here's what each of them contain:
- Guide: Shows incomplete Story and Hangout Quests for easier completion
- Embattle: Rewards players with Sanctifying Essence and Artifacts for ascending characters of different elements. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like:

Enemy Drops now Stack!
No more spamming the Collect key when picking up drops from overworld mobs! Every time more than one mob drops the same item, they will now stack and will show up with the corresponding number of materials beside the item name, saving you some clicks.
Nobushi, Kairagi, and Specter Nerfs
The community has discovered that the recently introduced mobs, namely the Nobushis, Kairagis, and the Specters will had their Attack curve changed. To spare you the math, the change is that they will deal less damage at level 40 – 84. Their damage at other levels will remain relatively unchanged.

PC players will be glad to know that finally, a 45 FPS option has been added.
However, all of these changes are not final and is currently only present in the beta version of Genshin Impact Version 2.8. There is no guarantee that all adjustments will be pushed onto the live server as they are right now.
The Genshin Impact Version 2.8 has no confirmed release date, but it can be safe to say that it will arrive sometime mid-July.
