Space shooter looter game Outriders was due a new content patch earlier this week, but it didn't arrive. The devs, People Can Fly, explains their situation, with fans having mixed reactions on their reasons.

The dev team encountered two different crash scenarios during their testing of the new patch. People Can Fly listed three options they could have done. The first option involves releasing the patch in spite of its issues. The second one is to delay the patch indefinitely until they've fixed the issues. The third and final option is to delay it until this Thursday before releasing the patch, hopefully after they've fixed these issues. The team stuck with Option C, which met mixed reactions from the Outriders community.

A lot of fans expressed their disappointment at the delay. Some of the fans even suggested that People Can Fly should have chosen Option B instead, saying that Outriders should have not launched in this state in the first place, and no content patch should be released until all bugs have been fixed. Meanwhile, there were also some fans who appreciated the team's transparency, saying that they can wait for the new patch as long as it means they'll get to fix the problems moving forward.

Even though Outriders had a strong launch, its player base is slowly dwindling. The time between patches has been long, and players are growing impatient with the game's bugs and issues. Hopefully, People Can Fly can make things work soon enough. Otherwise, Outriders might end up losing its entire player base if no drastic changes happen.
