Pokemon Legends Arceus wouldn't be a Pokemon series if there weren't any fossil Pokemons involved. Fossil Pokemon are extremely rare to acquire, since each Pokemon game will only let you choose one of the other. You have to have a friend or a second copy of Pokemon same version in order to get them both before. Of course, Pokemon Legends Arceus will also have its own way of finding a way to getting both fossil Pokemons hard for trainers.

The fossil Pokemon found in Pokemon Legends Arceus are Cranidos and Shieldon. Both Pokemon came from the 4th generation of Pokemon, where Dialga, Palkia, and Arceus are. These Pokemon are found in The Underground where trainers can get the Skull Fossil as well as the Shield Fossil to restore. However, Pokemon Legends Arceus requires all trainers to be patient in getting these Pokemon. In Pokemon Legends Arceus, you don't need to incubate a fossil from a scientist like always. These fossil Pokemon in Pokemon Legends Arceus are already alive and enjoying their walks around the world. You just have to catch them plain and simple. The question is where can we find them on our map?

The hard part starts at where can we find both of these Pokemon? The answer to catching them are the Space-Time Distortions that appear randomly anywhere in Hisui. These Pokemon spawn in the Space-Time Distortions exclusively so they won't appear on a normal basis. The reason probably for this would be finding them in a timeline where they are in a pre-fossil form as themselves. They will however only spawn inside Space-Time Distortions in the Coronet Highlands area.

Of course, to complete the Pokedex, we have to also think about their evolutions. The evolution of Cranidos and Shieldon are Rampardos and Bastiodon respectively. Both of these Fossil Pokemon evolve at Level 30, so give them exp points to quickly level up.

It's only natural to try and find the fossil Pokemon as they are keys to completing the Pokedex. You just have to be patient with getting them as both are rare to find given the randomness of Space-Time Distortions.
