Three weeks into the League of Legends European Championship, or LEC, Rogue sit undefeated at the top. After roster moves that many considered downgrades, they proved critics wrong.

Preseason Moves

During preseason, rumors floated around that Rogue's bot laner, Steven “Hans sama” Liv, was parting ways were the organization. This rumor was later confirmed, and Hans sama was headed to NA alongside Rogue's jungler Kacper “Inspired” Słoma. Considered among the best in their roles, losing both Hans sama and Inspired was surely a huge blow to Rogue.

To fill in their shoes were bot laner Markos “Comp” Stamkopoulos and Korean jungler Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong. While Malrang has already proven his skill previously as a member of DAMWON Gaming KIA, Comp has had less opportunities in his career, prompting skepticism regarding his addition to the squad. This aside, Comp and the rest of Rogue were quick to dominate the region.

Rogue in LEC Spring 2022

Rogue's performance in the past three weeks were nothing less than impressive. The statistics, of course, reflect this.

Aside from having a 100% win rate, Rogue also holds the highest average game length, at 30:26.

Rogue gets first blood 57.1% of the time, and with 7 games played, this might not seem impressive. But the pressure they exert, combined with the lead from first blood, allow them to get the first tower 71.4% of the time. This means Rogue, in a majority of their games, get their early lead from objectives and snowball from there. They also hold the highest average kills per game at 17.7, and least deaths per game, at 7.3. Speaking of leads, the Rogue squad is ahead by an average of 1.4k gold at 15 minutes.

Most of Rogue's wins aren't close games either. On average, they are ahead of their opponents by 7 towers and destroy an average of 9.6 towers. As a reminder, a team only has 11 towers. This speaks about the pressure and dominance that Rogue display on the Rift. While we're on the topic of objectives, let's talk Epic Monsters.

Rogue ranks third in average number of dragons slain per game, at 2.71. This may not seem impressive, as this isn't even enough for a dragon soul, but on the other side of the Rift is where they shine. Rogue averages 1.29 Baron Nashors claimed per game, and slaying 92.9% of all Baron Nashors that spawn during their games. This means, statistically, their opponents have a less than 10 percent chance of claiming the Baron Buff against Rogue.

Their AD Carry, Comp, also currently holds the best KDA ratio in the League right now, at 19.4 KDA.

What's Next for Rogue?

The LEC is constructed as a double round robin, and Rogue has already fought and won against 7 teams. The two remaining teams standing in the way between Rogue and perfect run of the first half of the season are G2 and Excel. Both of these teams, of course, are nothing to scoff at. G2 is second in the rankings right now, with a 5-2 scoreline. Most notable for having one of the best mid laners, Rasmus “caPs” Winther, G2 is an opponent Rogue will have to sweat for. On Excel is legendary support Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle after a sudden roster move. Mikyx and the rest of Excel will be sure to make Rogue work for their perfect half.
