With the Georgia Bulldogs' College Football Playoff National Championship matchup against the Alabama Crimson Tide set for Monday night, fans will be able to witness one of the sport's biggest rivalries played out on the greatest of stages.

The SEC's two top dogs showed their worth as they managed to advance to the National Championship for what should be a thrilling rematch. Georgia and Alabama squared off earlier in the season, with the Tide pulling away with a 41-24 win. The Bulldogs will be seeking vengeance on Monday night, but are well aware of the sizable task that lays ahead. Georgia has long been trying to escape Alabama's shadow and will have a great chance to do just that during the CFP title game.

As the Bulldogs learned back in the SEC Championship, this Bama team, despite a surprising loss to Texas A&M, is just as formidable as any Crimson Tide team in years past. Heisman winner Bryce Young will be a difficult matchup for the Bulldogs defense, regardless of how effective the Dawgs' defensive unit has been all season long.

Georgia National Championship Predictions

4. Georgia's Defense shuts down Bryce Young

Georgia's bread and butter all season long has been their lockdown defensive play. The Bulldogs rank second in the entire nation in terms of yards surrendered, allowing just 253.1 yards per game. The defense has shown great consistency all year, outside of one game — the SEC Championship loss to Alabama. During the loss, Georgia surrendered 568 yards to the Crimson Tide, allowing Bryce Young and the Bama offense to wreak havoc. They'll be looking for revenge on Monday night, and their main focal point will be to avoid another thrashing from the Heisman winner. Young put up 421 passing yards and threw for three touchdowns in their last matchup, and the Bulldogs will do everything in their power to prevent a repeat of that performance. The Bulldogs have allowed just 15 touchdowns all year long, and their loss to Alabama was the only time the defense surrendered more than 17 points in a game. In what will be a prove-it matchup against one of college football's best offenses, we're predicting the Bulldogs' defense to step up big.

3. Stetson Bennett throws for three touchdowns

Stetson Bennett was excellent against Michigan in the CFP semi-finals and he'll be looking to carry that momentum into Monday's showdown. After dicing up the Wolverines' secondary en route to three touchdowns, Bennett will be looking to do much of the same in the title game. He threw three touchdowns in the previous matchup against Alabama, but was also intercepted twice and was playing in a very pass-heavy game script. The Bulldogs plan on keeping this game closer on the defensive end, and it will be up to Bennett to make sure the defense's hard work doesn't go unrewarded. He's shown the ability to face off against some of the best defenses in college football this season, and he'll now have a rematch against the staunchest opponent he's faced.

2. Zamir White and James Cook both score TDs

The Georgia Bulldogs don't possess one lead running back to handle most of their rushing attack. Instead, the Bulldogs rely on a multitude of bodies to help carry the load. The two top options are White and Cook, both of whom topped 600 rushing yards on the season. While neither was particularly close to a 1,000-yard season, they've managed to build a serviceable backfield for the Bulldogs, combining for 17 rushing touchdowns this year. The Crimson Tide completely shut down the tandem in the SEC Championship, with neither player able to top 40 yards in the game. The duo will enter Monday's game with a chip on their shoulders as they look to bounce back from a disappointing outing in early December. Whether it be via the air or ground, expect both White and Cook to find the end zone in what should be a thrilling contest.

1. Georgia stuns Bama to win the title

If the last meeting between these two sides is anything to go on, Georgia face a tall task on Monday. Alabama gave Georgia its worst loss of the season during the SEC Championship, just more than one month ago. The Bulldogs have certainly not forgotten that matchup and will be vying to do everything in their power to reverse their fate on Monday night. Back-to-back losses against Alabama would be a tough pill to swallow for Georgia fans, especially given how talented the team is this season. With the defense coming off a rout of Michigan, there's no way the Bulldogs get burnt for 41 points again, but they'll have to be at their best in order to fend off the relentless Alabama offense. In what should be a tightly-contested affair, the Bulldogs have a real chance to stage an upset, and we're backing them to do just that.
