Players have until February 16 to claim Assassin's Creed Chronicles China for free on Ubisoft Connect.

GET THE ASSASSIN'S CREED SPIN-OFF TITLE FOR FREE

Players who sign in on Ubisoft Connect during the Chinese New Year will be able to claim Assassin's Creed Chronicles China for free until February 16, 2021. This is part of their Lunar New Year sale, which features discounts of up to 85% off.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles China may not be the most memorable title in the whole series, but it's still worth a look, especially for free. It's the first of the Chronicles spin-off series of Assassin's Creed games, which had three games in total. The spin-off didn't enjoy the same popularity as the mainline series, and its last entry, set in Russia, didn't get any follow-ups after its 2016 release.

Players take control of Shao Jun, the last member of the Chinese Brotherhood. Personally trained by the legendary assassin, Ezio Auditore, players will help Shao Jun exact revenge and re-establish her fallen brotherhood. The game is set in the medieval Ming Dynasty, set in the year 1526, very close to the Dynasty's collapse.

Ubisoft recently revealed that they are cutting down on their Triple-A game releases. Instead, they will be focusing more on their free-to-play titles. While Ubisoft will continue producing Triple-A games in the future, including the likes of Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine, they will do so now with less frequency. The latest title in the Assassin's Creed franchise, Valhalla, received positive reviews from critics. Ubisoft is yet to announce a follow-up for Valhalla.
