The XFL drew some buzz in its first inaugural season and now players from the league are getting chances to play in the NFL. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the New York Giants have agreed to a two-year deal with Dravon Askew-Henry.

Askew-Henry, the cousin of Darrelle Revis, played for the New York Guardians in the first season of the XFL. Of course, due to the coronavirus, the first XFL season was cut short.

Nevertheless, Askew-Henry inked a deal with the Giants and will get an opportunity to prove himself in the NFL. Prior to the XFL, Askew-Henry played four seasons at West Virginia, starting as a freshman.

In his four collegiate seasons, Askew-Henry combined for 208 tackles, 10 deflections, and six interceptions. After not getting drafted, Askew-Henry joined the Pittsburgh Steelers during training camp. However, the West Virginia product failed to make the roster.

Then, Askew-Henry was given a chance to showcase his talents in the XFL, joining the Guardians. Over the course of his five games in the XFL, Askew-Henry contributed 11 tackles and six deflections.

While his numbers weren't out of this world, the Giants saw promise from Askew-Henry as a nickel cornerback. As a result, Askew-Henry could get a chance to earn a starting role with the team in training camp.

This past season, the Giants boasted the 28th ranked pass defense in the NFL, allowing 264.1 yards per game. So far this offseason, New York has added James Bradberry and Askew-Henry to their secondary.

Even though Askew-Henry isn't as notable as Bradberry, he's proving that the XFL was a success for players trying to make it to the NFL.
