Charles Oliveira controversially lost his lightweight title at UFC 274 after famously missing weight by half a pound. Many were not happy with the situation and light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira gave his thoughts on the situation.

Many people still consider Charles Oliveira the UFC lightweight champion after he beat Justin Gaethje. You can officially add Glover Teixeira to that list as he still considers the Brazilian the champion in that division, even if it's not official.

“He’s still the champion for me,” Teixeira said during an appearance on The MMA Hour. “It was crazy. It was ridiculous. If he were a couple of pounds, I would say it’s unprofessional on his part, but it was a half pound. And everybody knows about the scale problem. He’s the champion. He’s still the champion.”

The rules were very tricky in the situation as many felt like Charles Oliveira was a victim of some faulty rules by the commission. The situation at UFC 274 received a lot of attention because of how shocking it was.

Glover Teixeira was not in agreement with it but he's not going to argue with the rules that saw Charles Oliveira get stripped of the title. That doesn't take away from the Brazilian's accomplishment during his strange title reign.

“If they stripped him, that’s the law and that’s the law,” UFC light heavyweight champion Teixeira said. “I’m not going to sit here and say, oh that’s wrong. It is kind of wrong, but what are you going to do. It’s the law.”
