The Golden State Warriors are still working on filling out their roster with minimum contracts.

Their latest addition is Elliot Williams, the 27-year-old shooting guard from Memphis, who was the 22nd overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.

Williams is a long shot to contribute much in Oakland next year as he hasn't been in the league consistently for quite some time. He played five games for the Grizzlies last year and just 13 combined between Utah and New Orleans the year before. The only season in which he played a significant amount was 2013-14 when he suited up for 67 games with the 76ers, averaging 6.0 points per game.

A 6-5 guard with some playmaking skills, Williams spent the last year with Panathinaikos, a professional team in Greece. The club wanted to extend his contract but a deal could not be reached as Williams eyed a return to the NBA.

Williams spent more significant time in the D-League than anywhere else, and played very well in it. In 51 games, he's averaged 24.2 points, 6.7 assists and 5.6 rebounds a night while shooting 35.8 percent from beyond the arc, a far cry better than his 31.0 career mark in 109 NBA games.

The D-League is where teams saw the potential of Williams and why the Warriors are likely taking a chance on him. He obviously won't be asked to do much in Golden State.

He'll join Shaun Livingston, Ian Clark and Patrick McCaw as the reserve guards on the team. His deal is just partially guaranteed so he'll still have to work to make the final roster.

It will be interesting to see if Williams can finally find a home and crack Golden State's rotation at any point next season.
