Earlier Tuesday morning Tiger Woods was in a severe car crash that resulted in the “jaws of life” being needed to help remove him from his car which was totaled. Woods was apparently traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle. The car apparently rolled several times before he was helped out by paramedics.
The crash occurred on a steep stretch of Hawthorne Boulevard, a major road that cuts through the Palos Verdes Peninsula where signs warn trucks to use lower gears when traveling downhill. The road has now been closed as deputies continue to investigate what exactly happened.
According to Michael Eaves from ESPN, Woods' injuries are not considered life-threatening. He was transported to a local hospital where he is currently undergoing surgery on leg injuries with the belief that he suffered multiple leg fractures. A statement was made by Tiger Woods' agent Mark Steinberg discussing what took place on Tuesday.
Statement from Tiger’s agent Mark Steinberg:
"Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries. He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support."
