The Chicago Bulls have gone all-in and have built a great roster this offseason. They have brought in Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, and now DeMar DeRozan, formerly of the Spurs, to add to Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic.

The Bulls now have a roster that could potentially compete for a title.

For the Spurs, they are acquiring Thaddeus Young, Al-Farouq Aminu, a 2025 first-round pick, a 2022 second-round pick, and a 2025 second-round pick, While it may not seem like a ton for a star in DeRozan, who is headed to the Bulls, it was possible they would lose him for nothing since he was a free agent. They now have players on expiring contracts as well as draft capital.

Here are the grades for the Bulls-Spurs DeMar DeRozan trade.

San Antonio Spurs: B+

Instead of losing DeRozan to the Bulls for nothing, the Spurs made a solid deal by making a sign-and-trade deal. They got back two quality veteran players that could be solid rotational pieces. Young and Aminu could also be moved at the trade deadline to a contender, which would allow the Spurs to acquire future assets.

Last season, Young averaged 12.1 points per game for the Bulls with 6.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists. These were solid numbers for his role, and he should fit well in coach Gregg Popovich's system.

Aminu, on the other hand, struggled heavily last season, which he ended with the Bulls. He averaged 4.4 points per game along with 4.8 rebounds on 38.4 percent from the field. Aminu's horrendous shooting numbers will need to improve next season.

While his shooting splits are bad, he still provides solid defense. Aminu will still be able to make a decent impact for the Spurs next season.

The Spurs made some interesting moves in free agency as they try to get back to the playoffs. They went out and signed Zach Collins and Doug McDermott on 3-year deals. These moves were surprising, but it adds wing depth to the Spurs, which was needed.

The Spurs still have some work to do in the rest of the offseason, but they made a good move with this sign-and-trade with the Bulls.

Chicago Bulls: A-

After their day one signings, it appeared the Bulls would be a playoff team, but not a contender. The Bulls then came out and pulled off this deal for DeRozan, making them one of the premier teams in the Eastern Conference.

They now have a roster that includes an up-and-coming point guard in Ball, an All-Star in LaVine, a 4-time All-Star in DeRozan, and a 4-time All-Star in Vucevic. These 4 will be tough for teams to compete with, but they now need to work on developing chemistry.

Adding Caruso was a start, but they will need to do more than that if they want to get past the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks.  There is still plenty of the young core that will pair nicely with the new additions. The roster is very well balanced with tons of depth on the bench.

It will be an exciting year for Bulls fans as their team is primed to make the playoffs. They have not made the playoffs since 2017, but that is soon to change. Bulls fans have also not seen a championship since 1998 when they were led by an all-time great, Michael Jordan.

Both of these droughts could end over the next few seasons as the roster is very talented. Look for the Bulls to be a real contender in the Eastern Conference after a great offseason.
