Gran Turismo 7 Release Date: March 4, 2022

Creator of Gran Turismo, and the President of Polyphony Digital, Kazunori Yamauchi, introduced the game on the official PlayStation Blog post:

“The objective for GT7 in current culture today, is to design a game to convey everything from the last 150 years of car and racing culture, whether you are a lifelong fan or discovering cars for the first time.

GT7 is both the culmination of the series which answers the expectations of GT fans throughout the years, and at the same time it is a title that marks a beginning of a difficult mission to contain the full breadth of car culture from the past into a single video game.”

Additionally, Gran Turismo 7 will feature a revamped version of the GT Campaign mode, where players will start from the GT World Map. The Livery Editor feature, first introduced in GT Sport, will also be making a return, allowing players to customize the look of their vehicles. There will also be a new Scapes feature that lets players take photorealistic screenshots with a wide variety of effects – it's a very involved photo mode, basically.

Historic circuits like Trial Mountain and High-Speed Ring will also be back for Gran Turismo 7, now in higher detail. Players will also be able to heavily customize their cars not only aesthetically, but also in gameplay and performance with the GT Auto feature. Here, they can make wheel changes, wide body modifications, and add roll cages and other parts. This is also where players will be doing oil changes and car washing.

Gran Turismo 7 also boasts extensively detailed time and weather simulation. The devs at Polyphony Digital referenced a massive amount of meteorological observation data to recreate different spatial and time of day conditions.

Again, the Gran Turismo 7 release date is on March 4, 2022, for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
