Ben McLemore has been through a progressive recovery after suffering a broken foot during the offseason.

According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, McLemore is set to go through the next phase of his recovery as the Memphis Grizzlies have put him in a short stint with their G League affiliate.

This should provide the Grizzlies a better gauge on where McLemore is at physically at this point in time. The 24-year-old is now three months removed from the injury that he suffered during a pickup game in Los Angeles during the summer.

The original timetable for recovery on the injury is slated to be 12 weeks, putting him on track to return at some point later this month.

McLemore had signed a two-year, $10.7 million deal with Memphis and was expected to take up a prominent role in the backcourt; possibly in line to becoming the starter at some point during the season.

In his absence, veteran guard Tyreke Evans and rookie Dillion Brooks have filled the void off the bench, while Andrew Harrison has drawn the start in the first seven games of the season. The Grizzlies have gotten off to a strong start, currently sitting atop of the Western Conference standings with a 5-2 record.
