The Memphis Grizzlies will pay a visit to Crypto.com Arena on Saturday afternoon to take on the LA Clippers. Third-year star Ja Morant has been balling for Memphis this season. However, there is a possibility he wouldn't be in uniform on Saturday due to an injury. Nonetheless, it's still worth asking: Is Ja Morant playing vs the Clippers?

Is Ja Morant playing vs Clippers?

Well, is Ja Morant playing tonight? Grizzlies PR announced on Twitter that Morant is doubtful against the Clippers due to left thigh soreness.

The Grizzlies have yet to release an update, but considering his current status, it's looking more likely that Morant sits this one out versus LA. Memphis is probably better off giving the 22-year old the night off, considering Saturday's game is the front end of a back-to-back set against the two Los Angeles teams.

The Clippers are severely undermanned right now with plenty of guys on the sidelines, including Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. With that, it might be a better idea for the Grizzlies to rest Morant ahead of what should be another intriguing showdown versus LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Nonetheless, it doesn't seem like this is an injury that will keep Morant on the shelf for an extended period. The high-flying point guard already missed 12 games this season after he suffered a left knee sprain in a late November game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Despite missing their franchise star, the Grizzlies went on a tear, winning 10 of 12 games in Morant's absence. Upon his return, however, Memphis lost two straight games, sparkling ridiculously dumb claims that the Grizzlies are better off without the 2019-20 Rookie of the Year. The Grizzlies have since been the hottest team in the West led by Morant, who is averaging 29.4 points on 53.3 shooting from the field and 53.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc through this stretch. Even if their young leader doesn't suit up on Saturday, the Grizzlies have shown they are more than capable to hold down the fort. Nonetheless, hopefully this answers the question everyone was asking — is Ja Morant playing tonight.
