Ja Morant powered the Memphis Grizzlies over the Washington Wizards on Sunday night, and his triple-double performance in the game effectively seals his spot in the team's lore.

Not only was the Murray State standout able to notch his first career triple-double, but he has become the second rookie in team history to notch a triple-double. ESPN Stats & Info shed more light on the achievement Morant did against the Wizards.

Morant had an incredible night in all aspects of the game. He finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to his name, all while having a great night defensively with a steal and a block.

There's no question that Morant is running away with the crown in the Rookie of the Year race. He's the sole reason why the Grizzlies have emerged from being an underdog to a top team in the league. Moreover, his knack for scoring and ability to throw outrageous passes makes him one of the best point young point guards the league has seen.

Zion Williamson is closing in on his spot in the ROTY race, but it is highly unlikely for the New Orleans Pelicans forward to overtake what Morant has done this season.

The 20-year-old is averaging 17.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 7.0 assists in his debut campaign. Comparatively, Williamson has equally impressive averages of 19.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists a night. However, Morant's impact on the Grizzlies is more pronounced compared to the Duke product.

With so much basketball left in the season, Grizzlies fans are itching to see more of their top rookie. Expect to see more tantalizing highlights from Ja Morant in the coming days.
