The Memphis Grizzlies had a strong chance of beating the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night, with MVP contender Joel Embiid sitting out the contest. The Grizzlies, however, failed to capitalize on the advantage and suffered a tough loss in overtime, 122-119.

Ja Morant had another signature game for the Grizzlies, finishing with 37 points on an efficient 15-of-30 shooting from the field. He also added five rebounds and five assists. His efforts, however, weren't enough as the Sixers held on in OT to secure the win.

But instead of getting frustrated, Morant expressed confidence in his team after the loss, taking to Twitter as he usually does after every game.

Both teams heavily relied on their starting units, with both Morant and Bane scoring at least 30 points for the Grizzlies and Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris doing the same for the Sixers.

Embiid, who had been on a dominant streak, was a last-minute scratch. In explaining the decision, Sixers coach Doc Rivers said the team's medical staff “thought it was the right day” to rest the All-Star big man.

It would've been exciting to see Morant go up against Embiid (probably try to dunk on him too), but alas, that would have to wait. For now, the Grizzlies will have to focus on regrouping ahead of their road game against the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
