Memphis Grizzlies big man Joakim Noah recently opened up about his experience this season with his new team. The 33-year-old veteran was not shy to admit that it was only the Grizzlies who considered him as a potential member of their team:

“Memphis was the only team that showed me any consideration,” Noah tells Zach Lowe of ESPN.com.

This is actually not surprising considering how Noah had completely fallen from grace over the past few seasons. His myriad injuries did him no favors in terms of a potential comeback.

It was quite easy for the entire league to forget how Noah was once a double-double threat on a nightly basis, and how the two-time All-Star was once the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year (2013-14 season).

Nevertheless, Noah himself stated that over all his accomplishments in the past, this season has been extra special for him given how he was able to prove that he still has what it takes to play at the highest level:

“I'm more proud of this year than I was when I was an All-Star,” he says. “I lost my confidence on the court in a real public way. You don't know if you are going to get that back. Just to have that feeling back — to be able to be myself, and express myself on the court — it feels great.”

Noah is currently on a one-year deal with the Grizzlies and will become an unrestricted free agent in the summer. It has been a good year for him, though, so he might just be able to secure a deal to play on next season.
