The Cleveland Guardians will begin a four-game series with the Boston Red Sox on Monday at Fenway Park. We're here to share our MLB odds series, make a Guardians-Red Sox prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Guardians have had a strong start to their season. However, the recent homestand has put a damper on that, as they have gone 3-3 over the past six games to bring their record down. The Guardians were barely able to avoid a sweep at the hands of the New York Yankees. Now, they hope to do significantly better as they face the Yankees' bitter rivals.

The Red Sox are once again the worst team in a great division despite doing relatively well. After a weekend series with the Angels. the Sox will welcome the Guardians for four games with the hopes of building some ground. The Red Sox started slowly against the Angels, dropping the first game. Eventually, they bounced back, taking the next two games in the series.

The Guardians and Red Sox split the six games last season. Yet, the Red Sox went 2-1 over the three games at Fenway. Both teams will look to take the first step in this game and will need good hitting. Also, they need their pitching staff to find a way to get the job done.

The Guardians will turn to Xzavion Curry. He will make his first start of the season, as the Guardians have activated him from the 15-day injured list. Curry was 3-4 with a 4.07 ERA over nine starts and 41 appearances. Significantly, he faced the Red Sox two times last season, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings of work while also striking out three.

The Red Sox will use Kutter Crawford. He is 0-0 with an ERA of 0.57. Crawford tossed five scoreless innings in his last outing. However, he has yet to win a game this season and looks to figure in the decision.

Why The Guardians Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Guardians will look to get the bats rolling as they come into Fenway against a team that is tough to beat. Their lineup has produced mixed results while playing there, both recently and in their careers.

Steven Kwan produced a career batting average of .320 with eight hits and seven runs over six games against the Sox in 2023. Meanwhile, Andres Gimenez is hitting just .235 with eight hits, including one home run and one RBI, with five runs throughout his career. Jose Ramirez has the most experience against the Red Sox. So far, he is batting .281 with 50 hits, including eight home runs and 24 RBIs with 28 runs in his career against the Red Sox. Ramirez has especially done well at Fenway. Significantly, he is hitting .307 with 27 hits, including two home runs, eight RBIs, and 14 runs over 24 games at Fenway. Josh Naylor has done well against the Red Sox. Currently, he is batting .340 with one home run, eight RBIs, and six runs over 15 games against the Red Sox.

The Red Sox will cover the spread if they can get some good innings going early. Then, they need a good outing out of their starting pitcher.

Why The Red Sox Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Red Sox will try to get some offense going. The good news is that they have a leadoff hitter that can do some damage. Ultimately, he will be the first person the Sox rely on as they get past the Guardians.

Jarren Durran is hitting .283 with 17 hits, three RBIs, and five runs over 15 games against the Guardians. Now, he hopes to set the tone at the top of the lineup for the Red Sox to help them get things going. Tyler O'Neill is likely the hitter in the second spot in the order. However, he struggled against the Guardians last season, batting .191 with two home runs, three RBIs, and five runs over six games against the Guardians.

Rafael Devers has done well against the Guardians. So far, he is batting .318 with 10 home runs, 23 RBIs, and 21 runs with an on-base percentage of .389. Devers is the biggest weapon in the lineup. Therefore, he will try to mash some home runs and create a lot of runs. Triston Casas has played for three seasons. Significantly, he is hitting only .267 with only one home run, one RBI, and three runs.

The Red Sox will cover the spread if they can find a way to get some offense going early. Then, they need to avoid making mistakes down the heart of the plate.

Final Guardians-Red Sox Prediction & Pick

The Guardians are 9-5 against the spread as they head into Fenway Park. So far, they have handled business when they have needed to. On the contrary, the Red Sox have gone 7-8-1 against the spread and are not as nearly solid in this young season. This will be the Jackie Robinson Day main game, as it starts bright and early for the Sox. Consider the fact that the Guardians have played much better on the road. Also, the Sox have not taken care of business at Fenway. Even if the Red Sox win this game, the Guardians will find a way to make it close, even against Crawford.
