The Miami Heat have found more help on the perimeter as the reigning Eastern Conference champs reportedly are signing free agent Avery Bradley.

Bradley, 29, agreed to a two-year contract worth $11.6 million, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Bradley is coming off a one-year stint with the Los Angeles Lakers, with whom he won the 2020 title; however, the former Boston Celtics shooting guard was injured for the playoffs.

The Heat already re-signed point guard Goran Dragic and big man Meyers Leonard during the NBA's free agency, which started yesterday evening. The cast is led by All-Stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo and coached by two-time champion Erik Spoelstra.

Bradley started his NBA tenure with seven-plus seasons with the Celtics before bouncing around several franchises, including both L.A. clubs.

Bradley declined his $5 million player option with the Lakers this past week, becoming a free agency and ultimately signing with L.A.'s competitor, the Heat, who they defeated in the six-game 2020 NBA Finals series.

Last year with the Lakers, Bradley averaged 8.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 24.2 minutes per game, making 49 regular-season appearances and all but five of them were starts.

A former 19th-overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft out of Texas, Bradley was selected by a Celtics team two years removed from winning the 2008 title. Bradley honed his craft and made a name for himself in the Association with tough perimeter defense, although doubters have noticed a decline in his man-on-man prowess in recent years.

Bradley split time between the Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Clippers during the 2017-18 season and the Clippers and the Memphis Grizzlies in 2018-19 before signing as a free agent with the Lakers back in July 2019. Now he joins the Heat to help Butler and Co. get over the hump.
