Miami Heat shooting guard Dion Waiters is ready to have a bounce-back 2019-20 season.

After only playing in 74 games the past two seasons due to injury, Waiters is healthy now and has been working on his game and body this summer.

The 27-year-old appears to be in really good shape, which is a great sign for the Heat, who will need Waiters to be a microwave scorer if they want to make the playoffs next season.

Dion Waiters averaged 12.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists last season while shooting 41.4 percent from the field, 37.7 percent from beyond the arc and just 50.0 percent from the free-throw line. He missed the first 35 games of the season because of the ankle surgery he had during the 2017-18 campaign.

The Heat are looking to get back to the postseason after missing it last year. Miami acquired four-time All-Star Jimmy Butler from the Philadelphia 76ers this summer in a sign-and-trade deal involving Josh Richardson.

With legend Dwyane Wade retired and Richardson in Philadelphia, the Heat's shooting guard depth is limited, so Waiters must stay healthy and be productive next season coming off Miami's bench.

Waiters will make $12.1 million in 2019-20. He signed a four-year, $52 million deal with the Heat in the summer of 2017.
