The 2017-2018 NBA season was not the best for Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside, yet teammate Dwyane Wade still has faith in their talented big man.

In an interview with the Miami Herald, the 12-time NBA All-Star, who agreed to return for one final season, stressed the importance of Whiteside to the team’s success. Moreover, he is pleased with how the shot-blocking specialist put in the work this offseason to further improve different facets of his game.

According to Wade, everyone on the team is aware of Whiteside's frustrations, but instead of sulking in a corner, he got back in the gym and used this rage as motivation to come back even stronger.

After all, this is the same player who patrolled the paint and swatted everything in sight just two seasons ago on his way to averages of 17.0 points, a league-leading 14.1 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks on 55.7 percent shooting from the field. If Whiteside is able to regain this form, the league, particularly teams in the Eastern Conference, should be very worried.

With Goran Dragic, Josh Richardson, Kelly Olynyk, and Wade all healthy and capable of shouldering the offensive load, Whiteside can focus on what he does best: catch lobs and drastically affect the game on the defensive end.

This news should be a breath of fresh air for Heat fans. With only three days left before the season begins, expect Hassan Whiteside to have a bounce-back season.
