The Miami Heat's Hassan Whiteside and Detroit Pistons' Blake Griffin are two similar players. No, not by their style of play. Both players are franchise superstars for their respective teams. Both players have tackled adversity and injuries in order to get where they are today, and both players have experienced trades that impacted their careers.

However, for Griffin, his trade from the LA Clippers to the Pistons was a shocking one that even he didn't see coming. The transaction even had some players worried about Griffin's happiness some time after the move had been made. On Friday, Whiteside gave his comments regarding Griffin's trade to the Pistons, according to Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald.

“I’m glad he’s with a team that wants him. He’s a nice guy. He’s a talented player, Whiteside continued. Unfortunately, he got injured [in the past]. But I’ve seen his work ethic. He’s going to continue to keep getting better. “I think [the trade] shocked a lot of people. Me and Blake are with the same agency. I believe him when he says he was actually shocked about it. It’s good he’s with a team that he feels like he can move on with. Even Avery Bradley and them guys going to the Clippers. The thing about trades is, somebody has to want you. [The Pistons and Clippers] felt like it was even.”

The Heat will play the Pistons on Saturday, which should be a premier match-up between Whiteside and Griffin, two of the best players in the league. In the Pistons' 104-102 win against the Grizzlies on Friday, Griffin totaled 24 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in his debut game. Hopefully, Griffin will settle with his new team and lead them to the postseason and much more success.
