NBA owners are hoping to resume the season in the summer once the virus dies down. However, there’s no guarantee that will happen, as COVID-19 continues to spread across the U.S.

The CDC is currently recommending no large events of 50 or more people for at least the next two months because of the coronavirus pandemic. While Heat fans were certainly looking forward to seeing their team in the playoffs again, the safety of the human population comes first.

Leonard, who played his college ball at the University of Illinois, has career NBA averages of 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds in 442 games with the Blazers and Heat.
