After getting traded from the Miami Heat to the Toronto Raptors, Precious Achiuwa made a heartfelt parting gift to the city that embraced him during his rookie year.

Despite being a member of the Raptors now, it did not stop the former Heat player from giving back to Miami as he hosted a back-to-school backpack giveaway drive for students as the opening day of school is fast approaching. Via Precious Achiuwa‘s Instagram account, he posted a story about the said drive:

Precious Achiuwa

Achiuwa is a Nigerian-born player who played college ball at the University of Memphis. In his lone season with the Tigers, Precious averaged 15.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.9 blocks.

The big man was then selected by the Heat with their 20th pick in last year's draft. Achiuwa then proceeded to average 5.0 points and 3.4 rebounds in limited minutes behind Miami's star big man Bam Adebayo.

When given an opportunity last season, Achiuwa flashed some potential as he averaged 14.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.4 blocks per 36 minutes with the Heat.

However, his stay with Miami was cut short after the Heat sent him alongside fan-favorite Goran Dragic to Toronto in exchange for superstar Kyle Lowry.

A fresh start with the Raptors is what Precious might need as he can truly show the world what he is capable of.
