The Memphis Grizzlies have conducted and concluded their search for a new head coach to fill the vacant spot left after firing Dave Joerger. The search stopped with Miami Heat assistant coach David Fizdale, who they have offered the position to and are now working out contract numbers with.

Fizdale has been the lead assistant to coach Erik Spoelstra for five years (Spoelstra started with the Heat as a video room coordinator in 1997). He earned the respect of the players he has worked around, and once the news began to surface of his hiring, players didn't hesitate to send support to the man that helped the Heat win a pair of championship rings during his stint.

This also Beno Udrih and Mario Chalmers, who played for both the Heat and now the Grizzlies. They were more than happy to vouch for him.
