Hideo Kojima teased a new project on his Twitter account at the turn of the year. What is this new project? We don't know yet.
The brilliant mind behind Death Stranding, Metal Gear, and PT has a new project up its sleeve this 2022. At the turn of the year, Kojima tweeted:
Happy New Year and all the best for the year 2022. I would like to make this the year that I can start various things in earnest. pic.twitter.com/Vt1owaeYr9

“Happy New Year and all the best for the year 2022. I would like to make this the year that I can start various things in earnest.”
The tweet is accompanied by what looks like a promotional art card depicting Ludens. The unidentified characters may or may not be related to Death Stranding, and we don't even know yet if these characters have any significance at all.
The Twitter account of Kojima Productions also tweeted at New Year's a high-quality image of the postcard, saying:
Happy New Year to all those in this time zone from the team at #KojimaProductions! 🎉
We're always grateful for your continued support & we can't wait to share with you all the exciting things we have planned for 2022! pic.twitter.com/AVHAfhlPiN— KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS (Eng) (@KojiPro2015_EN) January 1, 2022

Fans of Hideo Kojima's games shouldn't feel too hyped up, though. The new project that Kojima refers to may not even be a game. On a follow-up tweet, Kojima says:
“This year, I'm going to start a new work in earnest, and move to the next level of experimentation with a radical project. I'm also hoping to get the video team going. And I may start doing something like a radio project?”
It's no secret that Hideo Kojima is a massive film buff. A cursory look at his Twitter profile reveals film references, commentary, and even fanboyism at times. In late 2021, after all, Kojima Productions announced that they're opening a new business division based in LA that focuses on film and television. So, what is Kojima's new project? A new game? A movie? A podcast? TV series? A mix of these media?
We may now know yet now, but video game veterans would know that whatever Hideo Kojima produces would always be worth keeping an eye on.
