The Indianapolis Colts are entering their Week 3 matchup against the New York Jets with a 1-1 record after dominating the Minnesota Vikings. After losing in disappointing fashion in the season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Colts destroyed Kirk Cousins and the Vikings by a final score of 28-11. Their defense looked great and the offense showed flashes.

Philip Rivers and company have a very favorable matchup this week as they look to get back above .500 on the season. While the Jets do have some talent, they have looked bad in the first two weeks of the season and are, of course, 0-2. Assuming the Colts take this game seriously, there is no reason that they shouldn't come through with another dominant win.

During their Week 2 matchup with the Vikings, the Colts saw some great things from rookie running back from Jonathan Taylor. Following the season-ending Achilles injury suffered by starting running back Marlon Mack, Taylor got his first career start. He racked up 101 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries.

Against the Jets, Frank Reich will likely look to get his veteran quarterback going. Rivers has had an up-and-down start to his first season with the Colts and fans are a bit nervous about him. A big performance will put some minds to rest this week.

All of that being said, let's take a look at four bold predictions that can be made for the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4 as they host the Jets.

4. Defense Continues Their Impressive Play

DeForest Buckner, Indianapolis Colts

One major bright spot that came from Week 2 against the Vikings was the stellar play of the defense. Over the last few years, the defense has been a major question mark for the Colts. It appears that Chris Ballard made some good moves this offseason and the defense has the potential to be something special for Indianapolis.

Indianapolis wreaked havoc on Kirk Cousins all game long and held him to an awful game. Cousins completed just 11 of his 26 pass attempts for 113 yards, no touchdowns, and three interceptions. That doesn't bode well for Sam Darnold and the Jets, who have struggled to get their offense going early this season.

DeForest Buckner and the Colts' pass rush sacked Cousins three times last week and Darnold should expect more of the same. The Colts are going to put pressure on Darnold and the secondary will make him pay for any mistakes. Indianapolis will receive back-to-back huge performances from their defense.

3. Michael Pittman Jr. Has A Major Breakout Game

Another rookie that the Indianapolis Colts will be watching closely this week will be wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. Unfortunately, Pittman received a bigger role in Week 2 due to the knee injury suffered by Parris Campbell. Campbell is now out indefinitely due to the injury, which means that Pittman will be a key player for the Colts' offense against the Jets.

In his first two career games, Pittman has caught six passes for 47 yards. This week, he will put together a major breakout performance.

Pittman has good chemistry with Rivers already and that will show on Sunday. He will end the game with six receptions for 60 yards and his first career touchdown. The Indianapolis Colts were happy to take him at No. 34 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft and he will show why this week.

2. Philip Rivers and Jonathan Taylor Both Dominate

Next up, the Colts would like to see their offense unlock its full potential against the Jets. New York has a relatively weak defense and that will be on full display this week. Rivers and Taylor are both going to have big games.

Rivers will end up throwing for 300 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. Taylor, on the other hand, will run for 100 yards once again and will catch a touchdown from Rivers.

Fans want to be excited about the offense and a big game from these two guys will get that excitement rolling. Taylor has true star potential and everyone knows what Rivers is capable of producing. The Indianapolis Colts will get their first true look at their offense running on all cylinders this week.

1. Indianapolis Colts Win In A Blowout

Finally, the Colts are going to improve to 2-1 with a blowout win over the Jets. New York simply does not stand a chance. Indianapolis is the better team on paper and they will be the better on the field in Week 3.

With an improved defense and an offense finally playing to its full potential, the Colts will be unstoppable. The Jets will score a couple of touchdowns, but it won't be nearly enough to keep up with Indianapolis.

We are predicting that the final score of this Week 3 matchup will end up being 35-17 in favor of the Colts. The Indianapolis Colts will move to 2-1 and will get back to being considered a legitimate contender in the AFC. Rivers and company have a ton of talent that has yet to be seen and we will get a glimpse of that against the Jets.
