Neither team has looked like playoff contenders, but they'll aim to prove themselves on Sunday. We take a look at this Jaguars-49ers game with some of our Jaguars' Week 11 predictions in mind.

Jacksonville's defense seems to have improved over the last couple of games. Josh Allen has been on a tear recently and will look to string together his third strong performance in a row. If he can manage that, the Jaguars could walk away victoriously.

Jaguars Week 11 Predictions

4. Jaguars defense shuts down Jimmy Garoppol0

As long as Josh Allen keeps playing the way he has, the Jaguars' defense will continue to improve. It's been a roller coaster of a year for the 49ers and Jimmy Garoppolo could be in for a tough game if Jacksonville gets in his face.

The best route to victory will be to pressure Garoppolo as much as possible. With Allen being on fire, that should be a very achievable goal. This can force the 49ers into tough situations which could result in turnovers for the Jaguars.

3. Laviska Shenault comes alive with 2 touchdowns

Laviska Shenault has yet to live up to the hype as he hasn't been utilized the way most believed he would. The Jaguars' young receiver has a ton of athleticism, making him a dangerous player overall. Even so, Shenault doesn't get the ball often. That could all change on Sunday, as Jacksonville needs someone to step up in the passing game.

2. James Robinson records 3 total touchdowns

One consistent option in the Jaguars' offense is their rushing attack. James Robinson has been phenomenal for Jacksonville so far in his career and could be in for a big performance against the 49ers. San Francisco has been mediocre against the run, which bodes well for Robinson's chances.

Urban Meyer should consider feeding the rock to James Robinson. Running the ball effectively allows the Jaguars to control the clock while tiring out the defense. His ability to catch out of the backfield helps as well, making Robinson a huge threat to the 49ers in this matchup.

1. Trevor Lawrence lights up the field with 300+ passing yards and 4 touchdowns

The first overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft hasn't looked all that great to start his career. However, he has plenty of time to become acquainted with the league. Trevor Lawrence has a prime opportunity to take advantage of the 49ers' defense. They haven't lived up to the hype this year, which means we could see Lawrence light up the field on Sunday.

Jacksonville needs their rookie quarterback to develop if they hope to win more games. For now, it's okay, as it's more important that Trevor Lawrence develops into the franchise player the Jaguars hopes he becomes. This game against the 49ers could be the starting point of Lawrence's breakthrough in the league.
