Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback A.J. Bouye said he’s not going to play in Week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts due to a calf injury, per Michael DiRocco of ESPN.

Bouye initially suffered the injury against the Houston Texans on Oct. 21 and missed the team’s game in London against the Philadelphia Eagles the following week.

But when told of Bouye’s comments, Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said the starting cornerback’s absence was “news to me.”

“I guess I'll have to talk to him about that,” Marrone said. “That's not what the trainer told me. He did say that? OK, we will take care of that. That's not been told to me by the trainer. That's the truth.”

Bouye has five passes defended and one interception through seven games this season. He’s coming off a terrific debut season with the Jaguars last year as he had six interceptions and 18 passes defended — both team-highs — as he earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro second team honors.

Bouye's absence would be a tough blow to the Jaguars, who will be desperate to snap their four-game losing streak after going on their bye. If Bouye is indeed out, Marrone and the Jaguars will have the likes of D.J. Hayden, Tyler Patmon, and rookies Tre Herndon and Quenton Meeks as options to play opposite Jalen Ramsey.

Hayden is finally back in practice after missing the past six games due to a toe injury. His return should help soften the blow of losing such an important starter like Bouye in the secondary.
