The Jacksonville Jaguars started last season with a shocking upset win over the Indianapolis Colts at home in Week 1. What followed was 16 weeks of winless football. Talk about a roller-coaster ride that started at the top before exploding into flames. Notwithstanding that forgettable 2020 NFL season, Jags wide receiver DJ Chark believes that Jacksonville is going to turn people into believers right in Trevor Lawrence's first season as a pro, per Jelani Scott of NFL.com.

“I think we're gonna shock a lot of people. I'm not one of the people that's huge on setting record goals or anything like that, or saying how many wins or losses we're gonna have but we're gonna be an exciting football team, for sure.”

When your team went just 1-15 in the previous season, the bar isn't that high when it comes to exceeding expectations. But Chark doesn't seem to be looking forward to just a two or three-win improvement for the Jaguars.

His optimism fir the Jaguars is understandable, as well. With a shiny new quarterback in Lawrence, the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and a fresh face as head coach in Urban Meyer, there's plenty of reasons for the Jaguars to feel confident about the upcoming campaign. Still, expectations should be managed for Jacksonville, as it could take time before Lawrence blossoms into the full-blown franchise quarterback many think he'd become.

The Jaguars finished the 2020 NFL season 30th in scoring and 27th in total offense.
