The Jacksonville Jaguars have a new nickname for quarterback Gardner Minshew, with a bit of an ode to the Netflix smash hit, Tiger King.

FOCO Collectibles released a bobblehead with Minshew in the role of Joe Exotic from the show, dubbing the quarterback “Jaguar King.”

Matthew Katz — licensing manager at FOCO — explained the idea for the bobblehead stemmed from Minshew's personality and ruggedness (via Michael DiRocco of ESPN):

“Gardner Minshew has always had a unique ability to connect with fans … In both college and the pros, Minshew’s fun personality and appearance as well as his electric play have endeared him to his teams' supporters, which is why we are confident Minshew's fans will be eager to add this unique bobblehead to their collections.”

Indeed, Minshew's personality is as large as his play. He became just as renowned for his tendency to wear jorts and harp on pregame rituals as he was for his ability to throw touchdowns.

In fact, he was already ahead of this “Jaguar King” idea. He posted an Instagram parody of Tiger King at the end of March.

Minshew's sense of branding appears to be on point, but the Jaguars will hope he can make significant strides in his sophomore season.

The Jags appear to be riding with the second-year passer as their starter after speculation about whether they would add a veteran quarterback or select one early in the 2020 NFL Draft

Minshew went 6-6 in 12 starts last season, throwing for 3,271 yards and 21 touchdowns against just six interceptions. The 23-year-old will look to embrace every bit of that “Jaguar King” spirit as he hopes to lead a rebuilding Jags team in 2020.
