Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey is one of the NFL's most dangerous defensive backs while becoming the face of the team's defense. Coming into the 2018 season, Ramsey was hoping that the team would be a Super Bowl contender after what they showed last season. Things looked very promising early in the year, but the last few weeks have been painful for the franchise.
Following their recent struggles, Ramsey took to Twitter to post a cryptic message about his future. It may not have been about his football future, but the timing certainly seems strange.
Needless to say, the Jaguars losing Ramsey would be a huge blow for their future. The defense was what made them such a good football team last year and it has already taken a hit this season. Losing Ramsey would take away their best playmaker and the leader of their defense.
Jacksonville currently has a 3-6 record and do not appear to be a playoff team at this point in the season. Missing the playoffs could make quite a few players re-consider their future.
Ramsey has not had the kind of season that many were expecting from him either. He has recorded 30 tackles to go along with an interception and four defended passes.
At 24 years old, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Ramsey. He is under contract through the 2019 NFL season. Even if he is going to leave, he can't do it for at least another season.
Expect to hear more about Ramsey throughout the remainder of the season and into the offseason. If he truly does want out of town, he isn't going to hold that back to avoid offending anyone.
