NFL free agency is far from over and there are still great players waiting to be picked up by teams. One such player is Cam Newton, a talented QB who has yet to find a place to call home. The Jacksonville Jaguars' Leonard Fournette is trying to get the quarterback to just go a bit south and don Jacksonville's colors.
Fournette was not shy in recruiting Newton to join him in Jacksonville. As captured by AllGators' Demetrius Harvey, the running back went straight to the jugular and asked Newton the most important question in free agency: will they play together or not?
It's obvious why Fournette wants Newton on his team. They are in dire need of an effective quarterback and could use a bit of a boost with Cam's help. Gardner Minshew may prove to be too raw for a team that wants to win immediately.
Newton will be able to bring instant offense with him to a team that badly needs it. He didn't play much during the 2019 season, but his performances over the past nine season as been nothing short of amazing. He's notched 29,041 passing yards and 182 touchdowns. He also led the Panthers to an appearance in Super Bowl 50. But the Denver Broncos managed to run away with the win.
There's still a big question mark with regards to Newton's health. Moreover, there are teams like the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders in need of a proven quarterback who can step in and contribute right away. If Jacksonville does want to bring Newton in, they have to act decisively.
